Because of the vast number of applicants, SBI conducts a strenuous selection process which comprises of three stages: Stage 1 is Prelims exam, Stage 2 is Mains exam and Stage 3 has Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Interview. Have a look at the details of the 3 stages.

Once you clear the SBI PO Mains exam, you will be subjected to a psychometric test. This test is a standardized assessment of candidates' mental capabilities, behavioral style, and decision-making approach. The reason why a psychometric test is a part of SBI PO recruitment is that it is important to know how well an employee can fit into a company's culture. You neither have to get scared for this test nor do any special preparation. Just ‘be yourself' and answer the questions calmly. There is no right or wrong answers for the questions asked in this test. The answers may only reflect different nuances of your personality.
The SBI PO 2025 category-wise merit list will be drawn based on the aggregate marks scored in the mains exam. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the category-wise merit list, subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score, as decided by the State Bank of India.
Phase-III: Comprises of (a) Psychometric Test (b) Group Exercise (c) Personal Interview
(a) Psychometric Test The Bank will conduct a Psychometric test for the personality profiling of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III. Findings of the test may be presented before the Interview panel to have a thorough perspective on the candidates.

The candidates will have to qualify both in the mains and Interviews separately. The marks obtained in the Mains Examination, both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in the Interview for preparing the final merit list. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be considered for the final merit list.
