Delhi Police Constable Executive Syllabus

Here we provide the syllabus for the Delhi Police Constable Executive Exam, which is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for the recruitment of male and female constables in the Delhi Police. The exam consists of four stages: Computer Based Examination, Physical Endurance and Measurement Test, Medical Examination and Document Verification.

Computer Based Examination

The Computer Based Examination is an objective type test with 100 questions of 100 marks. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. The questions are divided into four sections: General Knowledge/Current Affairs, Reasoning, Numerical Ability and Computer Fundamentals. The syllabus for each section is as follows:

General Knowledge/Current Affairs: This section covers topics such as history, geography, polity, economy, science, sports, awards, books, national and international events, etc. Question in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate's general awareness. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Reasoning: This section tests the logical and analytical abilities of the candidates. It includes topics such as analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

Numerical Ability: This section assesses the numerical and mathematical skills of the candidates. It covers topics such as number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time, time and work etc.

Computer Fundamentals: This section evaluates the basic knowledge of computers and their applications. It includes topics such as elements of word processing (word processing basics, opening and closing documents, text creation and manipulation), spreadsheet (elements of electronic spreadsheet), communication (basics of e-mail), internet (www and web browsers), etc.
